- Mousse your hair. Mix two tablespoons Phillips’ Milk of Magnesia in one cup water in a trigger spray bottle. Spray the setting liquid in your hair, comb well to spread the solution equally, set your hair, and let dry.
- Give yourself a facial. Use a cotton ball to apply Phillips’ Milk of Magnesia as a facial mask, let dry for thirty minutes, and then rinse off with warm water, followed by cool water. The milk of magnesia absorbs the oils from your skin, while cooling the skin at the same time, leaving your face minty fresh.
- Preserve newspaper clippings. Dissolve one Milk of Magnesia tablet in one quart Canada Dry Club Soda. Let the mixture stand overnight. The next day, stir the mixture well, and then soak your clipping in the solution for one hour. Blot the newspaper clipping between two sheets of Bounty Paper Towels and place on a screen to dry.
- Soothe sunburn pain. Coat the sunburned skin with Phillips’ Milk of Magnesia, let dry, and leave on overnight. The Milk of Magnesia keeps the skin cool all night and relieves the sunburn pain.
- Relieve an ulcer. When you feel the symptoms of an ulcer, take one teaspoon Phillips’ Milk of Magnesia. The antacid helps relieve the symptoms.
- Relieve seborrhea and dandruff. Before shampooing your hair, apply a capful of Phillips’ Milk of Magnesia to your hair and massage into the scalp, let sit for five minutes, and then rinse clean. For seborrhea on your face, use a cotton ball to apply Phillips’ Milk of Magnesia to your face. Let sit for ten minutes, and then rinse clean with warm water, followed by cool water.
- Prevent body odor. Use a cotton ball to apply Phillips’ Milk of Magnesia to your underarms. The milky liquid acts as a deodorant.
- Reduce pimples. Using Phillips’ Milk of Magnesia as a facial mask greatly dries up the excess oils from your face, and dabbing it on pimples reduces redness and speeds up healing.
- Soothe an insect bite. The antacid in Milk of Magnesia helps this cool, white liquid—when dabbed on an insect bite—eliminate the itching.
- Relieve a blister. Use a cotton ball to dab Phillips’ Milk of Magnesia on the blisters to cool and soothe the sores and speed healing.
- Soothe a cold sore. Using a cotton ball, dab the cold sore with Phillips’ Milk of Magnesia. This antacid dries up the acid in the lesion.
- Relieve diaper rash. Using a cotton ball or sponge, dab Phillips’ Milk of Magnesia directly on the diaper rash. The antacid neutralizes the acids in urine causing the irritated skin.
- Relieve the itching of hives, poison ivy, or chicken pox. Use a cotton ball to apply Phillips’ Milk of Magnesia like lotion to soothe hives, poison ivy, or chicken pox.
- Soothe a canker sore. Swish Phillips’ Milk of Magnesia around your mouth to coat the canker sore. Milk of Magnesia counteracts the acid environment in which the bacteria thrive.
