12 Wacky Uses for Nestea®

  1. Soothe sunburn pain. Empty a jar of Nestea into a warm bath. Soak in the tea. The tannic acid will relieve the sunburn pain.
  2. Clean a varnished floor, woodwork, or furniture. Cold Nestea makes an excellent cleaning agent for wood.
  3. Remove corns. Soak the corn in warm Nestea for 30 minutes each day for a week or two until the tannic acid in the tea dissolves the corn.
  4. Repair scratched wood-work. Mix one level teaspoon Nestea with two teaspoons water. Use a cotton ball to apply the paste to the scratched surface.
  5. Make a natural air freshener. Mix one quart Nestea with four tablespoons lemon juice. Strain through a Mr. Coffee Filter. Pour into empty spray bottles.
  6. Tenderize meat. Mix Nestea and use one part tea to one part double-strength beef stock as the liquid in a pot roast or stew. The tannin in the tea tenderizes meat.
  7. Clean dirt and grime from inside a vase. Fill the vase with water, add three tablespoons Nestea Ice Tea Drink Mix, shake well, and let sit overnight. In the morning, rinse clean. The tannic acid in the tea dissolves the grunge in the vase.
  8. Deodorize smelly feet. Mix Nestea according to the directions in two quarts of warm water, soak your feet in the mixture for twenty to thirty minutes, then pat dry and apply Kingsford’s Corn Starch. Repeat twice a day to bring odor under control, and then continue twice a week to keep odor under control. The tannin in the tea dries the feet.
  9. Fertilize houseplants. Mix up a quart of unsweetened Nestea according to the directions (without adding sugar or ice) and fertilize houseplants with the solution. Or simply sprinkle the powdered mix directly on the soil. As the tea decomposes, the nutrients work their way into the soil.
  10. Clean grease stains from a stovetop. Dissolve two teaspoons Nestea Iced Tea Mix in one cup of water, and dampen s a sponge with the strong tea to clean grease from a stovetop. The tannic acid does the trick.
  11. Clean the inside of an empty bottle. Fill the bottle with water, add three tablespoon Nestea Iced Tea Mix, shake well, and let sit overnight. In the morning, wash with soapy water and rinse clean. The tannic acid in the tea dissolves the residue in the bottle.
  12. Deodorize cooking odors. In a microwave-safe bowl, dissolve one teaspoon Nestea Iced Tea Mix in one cup of water, add two teaspoons McCormick Ground Cinnamon, and heat in the microwave for two minutes. Carefully place the bowl on a countertop and let the enchanting fragrance waft through the kitchen.
